motherhood on mission
Motherhood is wanting a break and yet never wanting to leave your sweet babe.
Motherhood is extreme exhaustion and yet the purest joy.
Motherhood is wanting to “feel like yourself”again and yet feeling more complete than you ever have before.
Motherhood is wanting time to get work, chores, and everything else done and yet feeling guilty wanting to do anything else but be with your child.
Motherhood is feeling oh so lonely and yet oddly content with how relationships change for the better and deepen with time and age.
Mama, you may feel like you’re unraveling, but in all reality, you are being held together in Him. Your unraveled pieces are not only being held in the hands of your Maker — they are being mended, sanctified, and put to holy kingdom use.
You may feel weak and insufficient… but isn’t that the best place to be? Because within those feelings is this sweet reality…
Motherhood, like anything else, is an act of pure dependence and reliance upon Christ our Solid Rock (Psalm 18:2).
Motherhood is one of God’s avenues in which He reminds us of His grace and its sufficiency alone. It’s an avenue in which we practice a great act of surrender to God, a great act of selflessness and love to our families, and a great act of obedience to Him who called us.
Motherhood is a gift. Motherhood is a ministry. Motherhood is a mission.
Don’t let anyone ever tell you that motherhood isn’t work. That it isn’t as meaningful.
And just a reminder… this joyful work doesn’t mean that you have to do it with a cheesy grin on your face all of the time. It doesn’t mean that you have to pretend that it isn’t hard when it is. Joy isn’t found in our circumstances. Joy is found in our Jesus. Joy is remaining steady, not letting the ups and downs of life sway us, because we have our lives anchored on the Solid Rock.
Yes, mama. You can have joy today.
So, to the mom who feels like she’s crumbling today — remember you’re called. Remember you’re held. Remember you’re on the greatest mission.
VERSES FOR A MAMA’S HEART
“Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all…” (Proverbs 31:25-30)
“Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.” (Psalm 127:3)
“Casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7)

“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.’ For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” (2 Corinthians 12:9-10)
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)
